ANZ Research discusses its expectations for next week's RBA and RBNZ October policy meetings.
"We don’t expect any changes to guidance or rates to come from the RBA’s policy meeting. We do however expect incremental positivity to be reflected in the rhetoric, as high vaccination rates and a roadmap out of lockdowns lay the groundwork for a rebound in Q4 activity," ANZ notes.
"The RBNZ is widely expected to raise rates at its upcoming policy meeting, making it among the first developed market central banks to tighten policy rates since COVID began. We expect market reaction to be fairly muted given current market pricing, with the guidance from the RBNZ to remain key," ANZ adds.
