• Cable rises to 1.2962 on unexpectedly positive UK February retail sales data

• Up 1.0% MM vs down 0.4% f/c. 1.2962 = intra-day high. 1.2953 was Asia high

• 1.2939 was Asian base, lowest level since Thursday's 1.2992 one-week peak

• Thursday's peak was scaled shortly before the 4pm GMT Ldn fix

• UK Q3 C/A deficit GBP 21 bln vs 23.4 bln f/c; Q4 2023-Q2 2024 GDP revised up

• U.S. February core PCE data due at 1230 GMT: 0.3% MM; 2.7% YY forecast
