MUFG Research discusses the impact of the outcome of the US mid-term elections on the USD.
"Results are still coming in thick and fast from the mid-term elections in the US but the early signs suggest the much anticipated strong gains for the Republican party has failed to materialise. The Senate could well remain in Democrat control after John Fetterman defeated Trump-backed Mehmet Oz in one of the most watched Senate races in Pennsylvania. A flip to the Democrats makes it harder for the Republicans to gain control," MUFG notes.
"We have already covered the impact of these elections and we see limited impact on the dollar from a split in control of Congress and the White House," MUFG adds.
