JPY: BoJ To Leave Policy Unchanged, Focus On The FOMC And China - Credit Agricole

By eFXdata  —  Sep 21 - 01:30 PM

Credit Agricole CIB Research discusses its expectations for this week's BoJ policy meeting.

"We and the markets expect no changes to the BoJ’s policy parameters on Wednesday, which consist of: (1) YCC; (2) asset purchases of TOPIX-linked ETFs and J-REITs; and (3) loan/credit measures to fight against Covid-19 which are currently scheduled to conclude at the end of March 2022. Whether or not the central bank will extend the third parameter will be decided at the December meeting, in our view," CACIB notes.

"With the BoJ unlikely to move the markets, the main driver of the JPY this week will remain the FOMC meeting and risk sentiment around this meeting as well as developments around interest payments due on Thursday by Chinese property developer, Evergrande," CACIB adds.
