Credit Agricole CIB Research discusses EUR/USD outlook in light of the recent ECB comments.
"EUR/USD has tentatively stopped the haemorrhage after dipping to fresh lows sub-1.1265. More hawkish-sounding comments from several ECB members may have somewhat lent a hand to the EUR," CACIB notes.
"Ultimately, a wide range of views still seems to prevail within the Governing Council, as ECB Chief Economist Philip Lane is likely to remind the market today in a joint panel with the NY Fed. Nonetheless, by now the EUR should be used to his uber-dovish tone, as the oversold EUR could instead rely on technicals to eventually halt its longest streak of daily losses in over two years," CACIB adds.
