Bank Of America: We Expect US Payrolls to Rise by a Below-Consensus 60k in September

By eFXdata  —  Sep 30 - 09:20 AM

Bank of America Global Research previews the US jobs report for the month of September, due on Friday.

"We expect payrolls to rise by a below-consensus 60k in Sep (private: 50k), but we view the weakness as largely driven by payback from Aug's unusually favorable seasonal factors. Underlying job growth is resilient at 100k+," BofA notes.

"We expect the u-rate to remain at 4.1% as the LFPR holds steady. However, payback for the jump in HH employment in Aug could push it up to 4.2%. The Sep jobs report shouldn't be a game changer for Oct hike pricing," BofA adds.
